the new toy??
Yo dBeav, can you actually send files thru that chat? I checked the list and found "pigeonchat." LOL! Talked to 3 guys from around the globe who raise racing pigeons, and don't know squat about rollers! LOL! The chat board looks like a good meeting place! Roller

Ya, I put it there Jack. The room is called 352HQ and everyone will have "_352" added to their name. It signs you in using your forum name which you can "register" and give a password to once you've logged in.
I figured I'd throw it up there and let everyone try it out.
Now to find more goodies......

I hit the cancel button by accident when trying to load the Java Applet. Now the chat room will not work for me. I know someone knows how to fix this...

I am at my daughters. I can't get into any sort of chatroom areas. I don't see anyway to register if that is what is required. I certify that I am over 14 years and that is the end of entering. It might be this computer setup. I will try it on mine when I get home

Spitty, try it again just give it a while to load and see if it gives you the option again. If not let me know what you get.
Jack, don't worry about the registering. I'll get more info about it. You certainly don't "have to" register. You do need to have a Java thingy installed. I' ll get more info on that for you later too.

Jack, here's info on the "registering" thing.
Registering your Nickname
To become a registered member of a chat site, you should register your nickname. Registering your nickname creates a profile for you and prevents other users from using that nickname, as the profile is secured by a password that you choose.
To register your nickname (which creates a profile), click your nickname in the list of nicknames that appears to the right of the chat area, then click the Member Profile button along the top of the interface. This option allows you to choose a password. Some sites require you to fill out a registration form. Other sites assign a password for you and email it to you. You must fill out such forms completely and provide a valid email address.
Several items of information are usually provided when you register your nickname to create a profile:
* Nickname-nickname of the member. Spaces are not allowed in the nickname and it may not begin with a number. (Your nickname is created for you using your forum name with _352 added to the end of it.) * Real Name-member's real name. (Optional) * Email-email address of the member. If provided, members on the Java Client can click this email address from a Profile list to trigger their browser to treat this like a mailto: URL. If this information is not provided, you will not be able to receive email from the chat site if, for example, you forget your password. (Optional) * URL-URL for a member's home page (or company home page, or any other URL). If provided, members on the Java Client can click this URL from a Profile list to trigger their browser to treat this like a hyper-link. (Optional) * Info-the information the member wants displayed about himself to any member that looks at his profile. This information can be a message, a list of interests, a favorite quote, or any other relevant text. (Optional)
Once you register, you will be promted for a password before entering the chat. You can skip the password thingy by simply not registering. 6 of one, half dozen of the other.

I got nothing when I was using internet explorer. Turned on the FOXFIRE and got invitation to download Java files. Downloaded and installed and all works well, even in IE.

You have to be registered on the board to get in Spitty, at least that's how it's supposed to work.
