Hello Jack,

Indeed it's work.
I see you used Tinypic host.
Maybe for practical rasons .. it will be better to use
http://photobucket.com
instead Tiny.
It's free (but a account needed) and you can organize you photos in albums and eventually upload videos.
I use this host from years .. and never a problem.

PLEASE....SURF SAFE....
Military regards.

Hey Dumo,
Photobucket was the one that I was using. The last time that I tried to use it it didn't recognize my password. It also didn't recognize my E-mail address and I have not been able to contact them. I don't want to cause the account to be closed because that would block a lot of the pictures that I posted in the past. Since you are on here, I have a question to ask. The present 3DZ files for our planes are using the original files from Chompy. There is a small RS problem that leaves a small hole in the hood when viewed from a certain angle. There is another file that allows movable flaps but has a more obvious RS problem (IMO). Would you prefer the movable flaps?

Hello Jack,

Strange you have a problem with Photobucket ....

Well if it's more RS problem (moving flaps) I think personally I can suffer to have a small (black) hole in the front canopy Smiley

Jack,
you might want to post this at the GEN? Someone said they have been making
moveable flaps with opening canopies. (Like the P47c)

And Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh!!! Is that a 352nd multi-skin set I see?HuhHuhHuh?
That would be excellent! AND with moving flaps?Huh
Would be very, very nice! Grin

Hey Roller,

It’s good to hear from you. The picture that you posted intrigues me. It looks like you made up a Multi skin formation with the P51d’s from the 352nd. Nice work! If you look at the picture that I posted, you will see all of the props are spinning except for the lead plane. In your shot, none of the props are on. Why is there a diffrence?

I am down at the seashore and I am using my laptop to access the web. All of my files and tools are back home on my desktop. I can’t do any work on skins or anything else involving EAW.

I was tempted to get back into messing with EAW modifications again by the possibilities of using our existing 352nd skins along with the Multi-skin feature and the 24 bit color. I tried to duplicate the Spitefire file modifications on the Chompy P51d and ran into all sorts of problems. I posted a request for advice on the GEN and found out that no one had been able to get P51d Hi-Res Multi-skins to work. By the time that I was getting those replies, I had found out why I was having problems and was able to create a set of our skins. In my investigations, I also got a much better idea of what was involved and figured out just what was needed and not needed to create the multi skins. I was going to do some work involving altering our color tones to take advantage of the 24bit color before I posted anything on SIMHQ.

Then the question arose in my mind; is it possible to crate a mixed carrier air strike for the new SPAW. I found wildcat, dauntless and devastator skins for the Yorktown 1942 time frame. I adapted them to the P51b slot and modified them for Multi-skin use. I found out that you can’t have multi cockpits. What you have in the first plane will be used for all the planes. The flight performance is that of the P51b until you supply a different flight file and then only for one plane. I was hoping to get it done and have some carrier pictures to post but the devastator ended up with a white instead of a transparent canopy. Time ran out and it was time to go to the seashore. I hope to complete it when I get home.

I can look into the situation with the RS problems and the moving flaps. The moving flaps look great. Unfortunately when you look down on the hood, you can see the landing gear cover showing through. Also the air intake for the belly-cooling radiator also shows through. The landing gear is either silver or olive drab according to your viewing angle. This is much more obvious than the opening in Chompie’s model. It may be that the gear is less noticeable after it is retracted. I will try to get shots showing all situations.

As always, when I get involved in this kind of thing, I learned a lot. I will be able to do the multi-skins much easier and simpler the next time. I can only get 12 planes to appear when I do a mission. All that you need for our group is one permanent leader and 11 clones. For all practical purposes it only requires 3 bit map files to show any given plane. We can create a variety of sets so that any combination of planes is possible within the 12-plane limit. I am looking forward to jazzing up our planes with a full color spectrum. The blues especially! I am going to post this now and pay a visit to one of my sisters. She always spends her summers here and this gives me a chance to sit and talk with her for hours. When you are kids you have your own friends and you just interact in passing. You are too busy growing to be real close. When you become a young adult you get involved in raising your own family. It is good to be able to sit and reminisce with someone who traveled with you along the same roads.

Hi Jack,
the reason my pic looks familiar to you is because they are YOUR
multiskins from your test folder at the GEN! Grin

I saw that you had multiskins in your pic, so went to your folder
and loaded it up and flew several nice p51 missions! The props not
moving is only because I alt-p'd as soon as I entered the game.
The screenshot was cropped.

Post some more when you get back. I like to see your work!
