Wednesday night
« on: November 15, 2017, 08:48:37 AM »

Doubt I will be able to join anyone tonight. Trying to get the house cleaned up for the upcoming holidays plus I broke my raid setup in my newly rebuilt PC so I had to start over.

I just checked in on your teamspeak server. I will be on it tonight if anybody is interested. I was surprised when Spitty showed up on Monday. We still are not getting really solid connections. The wife is feeling sort of lousy so I can’t guarantee anything. But that’s sort of the way life goes along. We will see what develops..

Hi guys.

Still at work - sorry - did not have a chance to post today as I have been in meetings all afternoon.

Next Monday should be a go as of right now.

I will be around tonight. I tried Beav's TS server but it was off the air. I turned mine on and connected. If no body shows up, I will close shop and hop up to my RR club. We will be starting our open house shows this weekend

Gentlemen,
I am getting dangerously close to becoming an online flying target once again.
TS server is back up. The dirty address of 68.42.201.176 should work. The much more refined address of ts.turma.net should be active within the next 24 hours.
My newly rebuilt old PC has been a royal pain in the rump. I have had to wipe and reload the OS at least twice and was able to get away with a restore point the third time. Seems each time I fire it up there's another problem.
The reason I'm even trying is that I have two 1TB drives running in a raid array, meaning they are copies of each other. So if one goes down I don't lose anything. I also have a newer video card that I hope will improve some of my views.
I just finished installing TS and gameranger. I copied all of my EAW files over last night and the game does run. I have yet to try flying however.

Having said all that I apologize for not checking in sooner. Had family in from out of town over Thanksgiving and it was also my wife and son's birthdays. So the plan is to continue ironing out some bugs, make sure EAW works flawlessly and that I be fully ready to join you in online gaming for next Monday night.

I also just added the server nickname "352FG" as another way to get to the TS server.

Getting closer to being back in business. A few bios changes and the system seems much more stable. Now to get my stick settings right in EAW.
ts.turma.net doesn't seem to be working correctly but that's a lesser concern right now.

ts.turma.net now works for the TS server (in addition to IP:68.42.201.176 and nickname 352FG)

Can't get my throttle to work in EAW. Still working on it.

I just checked out your T.S. site. Your IP has changed. I put in the correct IP and made the connection just fine.

Ya IP 68.42.201.176 should work.
Connect using "352FG" as the nickname should work.
And, connect using ts.turma.net as the host should now work as well.

Kind of like that old line about skinning a cat.

I'm on for a little bit. If nobody makes that's ok.

I continue to have issues with my new rig. The fun part is that it's a different problem each time I fire it up. So, I think I'll take this working PC and cannibalize it, add the pieces parts that I want from the persnickety machine and end up creating a super computer!! (Note: the previous statement may have been embellished for dramatic effect)

Damn,
I checked when I finished the dishes and noting seemed to be on and I went and watched the jeopardy games. I am trying to get into daily practice but I always have a lot of things on my plate. Maybe I will start to fall into step and it will become automatic. It can happen! sometimes I surprise myself.

Well I pulled the hard drives from my ailing rig last night and stuck them in the working one. Many fits and starts later and windows seems to have figured it out. Lots of driver installs later and it's looking good.

The next step (if I decide to keep going with this) will be to pull the motherboard out of the working machine and stick it in a larger case so I can use the new video card. I'm about 50/50 with that right now. I may just ride it out as is for a bit.
