1.28 install
« on: September 09, 2008, 12:49:14 PM »

Hi guys,

Just D/L'd 1.28.  Would like to put it in my OAW as a file manager system instead of having a separate install for it.

Please give me the skinny on how I might go about this.

Hello Spittty,

This was how I make it:

A fresh EAW 1.2 install (or best a copy of )
Just run over the 1.28 patch.
Run it one time
Put inside EAW your EAW.INI saved  for keep your joystick settings etc .. (just take care to not replace some particulars entries made by 1.28)
After that just install over OAW as usual.
After I immediately copy past in the OAW folder the EAW.INI
As I make allways I put also in folders "E" the default 1.2 EAW the EAW 1.28 .. and some others like 1.26
I put also some old FM/DM's in F folders for be sure be compatible in any case online.
That's how I proceeded.

If you want put it in your existing installation ..just be sure you RESET ALL before proceed (double check your root folder for any disturbing files stay behind like flt ..etc...)
After make as above if necessary.
Be sure to copy past (after the install of 1.28) in your OAW folder the new 1.28  EXE
Remark:
It's not a particular F folder with 1.28 as FM/DM is in CDF.
Now I will continue to check the movie .. Shackleton mission to the South Pole.. very good  ... :)

Quote
Shackleton is a 2002 British television film broadcast in two parts by Channel 4. Directed by Charles Sturridge, the cast includes Kenneth Branagh in the title role, along with Kevin McNally, Embeth Davidtz, Danny Webb and Phoebe Nicholls (also the director's wife) as Lady Shackleton. It was filmed in the UK, Iceland and Greenland. The film used first-hand accounts by the men on the expedition to re-tell the story, and Roland Huntford, the author of the definitive Shackleton biography, was a production advisor.

If any questions ......  :)

PLEASE....SURF SAFE....
Military regards
