I don't expect to see anybody tonight but I will check in here. I am in the garage soldering LED's to a cable for our control panel at the railroad club. My weight reduction goal has been meet. I am regularly below 155 lbs when dressed. That was what I think I was when I got out of the army at the age of 21. I was swimming on Friday and I did my 8 laps back stroke. That is 400 yards or 400 meters to be exact. I guess that the pace maker is doing its job OK.

Afternoon -

Stuck at work this afternoon.  I really haven't had a chance to work on the anti-virus fix yet - sorry.

Have EAW set up in a folder on a zip drive ready to install once I get the Norton to cooperate...   ;D

    Hello Spitty,

I meant to write this earlier but I do get wrapped up in other matters. I will give you my opinion on the problem that you are having and you can do what you want with it. I am not any kind of expert on computer matters and I am still running obsolete operating systems. If we still had contact with Dumo, I would advise you to get his opinion but he is no longer in touch with us.
Here is what I have as far as far as computers go. I have 2 desktop computers in my basement. My main computer is a Dell desktop with XP on it. The other one is an Asus motherboard with all kinds of stuff patched into it and I sort of use it for experiments. It is also an XP machine. The third is a laptop with a Vista operating system. The two desktops are connected to the router by cable and the laptop by wifi. I am no longer anywhere near cutting edge standard and I don’t see any good reason to be spending multi hundreds of dollars to upgrade.

Because of my obsolete operating systems, fewer and fewer Browsers and Antivirus programs are supporting my installs. Sooner or later, I will probably have to upgrade but I will probably lose use of a lot of old programs that I have. I will not be around forever so I will wait and see which comes first; dysfunctional computer obsolescence or my entrance to the Pearly Gates.
I will get to the point. I have had some problems with Malware infections. I researched and got good advice and directions. I learned how to side step the blocks that some malware sets up and download and run a variety of infection cleaning programs. Here is the point that I am trying to make. All of the experts seem to advise that the finishing procedure is to install MALEWAREBYTES and to completely scan your computer. I started with Free  MALEWAREBYTES and I upgraded to the premium version. I also use AVG PC Tuneup. Those two programs seem to do an excellent job of doing what Norton promises to do but doesn’t seem to deliver. I used to use Norton and I still have it on the laptop but I will be removing it soon.
Any time that you want me for trials and testing don’t hesitate to ring my bell. Remember, I am a gentleman of leisure!

OK -

So I'm pretty sure my Norton Anti-Christ Virus Bamboozle is the culprit.

I remember a while back when DBeav walked me thru setting up my Norton (NAV) to allow EAW to run.  ***Hint Hint there***  I remember NAV only tagging the .exe before though not the entire file folder.

Jack - funny thing on that thread on Sim-HQ.  I will need to do a complete Re-Install myself but I think I might need/want to fix my NAV so it allows EAW.  I don't think it would be wise to install the game again then have it disappear again.  This is what I will be trying to work on tonight when I get home from work and tomorrow when I get home from work.

Any insight on NAV tricks that you all might have will be appreciated.  Google will be my friend as well...

...thinking, "Man, I don't think I've checked in with Jack and Spitty in a couple of weeks." Then I started thinking about it and discovered it was well over a month (2???) since I've checked in.

Well I think we can all agree at this point that I suck at anything scheduled. I'll have to go back through the posts I've missed but I'm sure Jacks disappointment will be evident. Still, I must do it as part of my repentance.

On the up side though I have gotten a lot of work done around the house so far this summer. The wife and I just returned tonight from a long weekend trip through Michigan's thumb, I was able to build the first of several PC's that will be used at the museum as part of the SBD Dauntless display, and our C-47 just got a new paint job (pics soon).

I am very sad to hear this. If there is anything I can do to help out, just give me a buzz. Oddly enoughthis is similar to what was posted On SIMHQ
