It must to be in a Window Mode (Frame) to see an increase in FPS. if 1024x768 doesn't work well try 800x600.

Its just one check mark or selection on the first tab i believe.

EDIT:
BTW I have been redoing my site, and moved the wrapper info in the process to a help doc called Troubleshoot:

I finally got the DXWND Windower to work. It took a bit of figuring out but once I got on the right track it fell into place. I used EAW v140 for my test vehicle. I never did get it to reduce into a smaller window but the FR was still very low with lag. I guess that I will investigate it further but I do not expect any big change with the windower

256mb, should go for 512, aw well better than before.

With the DXWND you need to load up the EAW preset profile and change maybe one or more settings.
What the profile does is set all the tab setting to best guess values and then you manualy set a few more aording to my help doc.

I'm not sure how much instructions you need. I can't right an entire book on how to use it though. I don't even know most of the stuff.

But basically unzip it to its own folder and run the dxwnd.exe and import the the EAW game config/profile.
Goto FILE > IMPORT > browse to the DXWND folder /EXPORT and locate the "European Air War.dxw" file.
Then you should have a EAW shortcut in the window, right click it and click MODIFY > change the path to the EAW game you will be useing to test out the wrapper with.

Then follow the steps I've outlined in my help doc. If you need more help please ask for it.

I have "DXWND" installed. I have not been able to make much progress. I have not found any coherent set of instructions about how it works or better yet, how to get it to work.

I ordered a video card with 256 MB mem. I was able to download a driver before I ordered it.

Which wrapper did you get?

Any luck in getting the wrapper program to work?

I don't know what link you used to download, so I don't know what program you have.
DXWND is the program I suggest, its based on an old program Japanese program.
I had a link in the other thread, but I'll get the instructions for you again:
