Thanks for the tip. It is still confusing, the terminology used is different and so are the procedures. I guess that it just amounts to having to deal with a harder learning curve. It helps to have my other computer sitting next to the windows 10 and I can do my research on a familure screen

While typing a reply to Mark, I had a blue screen crash. So much for the EAW CD theory.   Will give it a rest.

Hey Guys,

The Blue Screen of Death is back and I can’t delay any longer. I ordered another
computer on Wed May 8th and it arrived today on Fri May 10th. Amazon has really put the pressure on for fast delivery. I unwrapped it and then did some grocery shopping. I am going to wrap some meat for the freezer and then I will start checking it out. It is supposed to be on MS Win 10. I will start to find out what problems that is going to bring. I will be back!

Jack

Here is my present situation. I have my XP Dell (Blue Screen) system on. I had a EAW CD on a drive for times that I wanted to run EAW 1.2 installs. I ejected that CD and I haven’t had a bluescreen failure since. I disconnected the Win 7 Dell and put the new HP Win 10 system in its place. The Win 10 system seems to be working OK but I am not comfortable with it at all. I have no confidence in my understanding of how it is supposed to operate. I ordered a Win 10 for dummies book to get some sort of reference source. I will wait until I have that book in my hand before I try to make any serious installs or changes.

I can fly all sorts of EAW versions on the Dell XP system but I no longer have a working Teamspeak on an XP system. I put in a Win 7 OS on another Dell computer and installed a compatible Teamteamspeak but it would not open because of Dir X problems involving the video.

My current plan is to make the new HP Win 10 System my main computer and phase out the Dell XP system. I may end up keeping it around to fly EAW with and for other compatibility reasons.

Thanks Jack.
Yeah two anti virus programs, can conflict. Even when there really not doing much.
Panda, seems to have notifications, a lot of them always too, like you said.

I know things are in your good hands. I just wish I could help you out more.
Looking forward to your progress report. :)

    Hello Mark,
Sorry to be so slow in answering you. I make progress in one area and stop dead in another. I will give you a fast reply and get into a fuller one later. I think I got the blue screen problem on the Dell Dimension (XP) solved. It looks like I was getting problems because Malwarebytes and AVG antivirus were on at the same time and clashing with each other. Since I turned Malwarebytes off and uninstalled AVG, I have not had any more bluescreen problems. I vaguely  recall reading cautions about having 2 antivirus programs running at the same time. I replaced AVG with PANDA but PANDA keeps popping up ads for updates so I think I will try to put AVG back on.
On my Optiplex (Win7) I am trying to install Teamspeak client. As soon as it tries to run it crashes. I will have to work on that. My time is in short supply and I will be giving you the whole story shortly.

    Thanks for the interest,    Jack
